Strange Behaviour welcomes you to our latest full-length release, Cycles, the debut album from Pōneke based Peace Point.

Peace Point is James Erwin, a musician interested in the textural aspect of songs, which is reflected across Cycles and its mosaic of sublimely processed sounds and samples.

Erwin has been making music on and off since he was about 18, at first sample-based sketches, before figuring out how to make his own samples as his compositional skills developed.

Cycles was created using a combination of software sequencing, Moog and Sequential synths and a heavy dose of analogue EQs to create "extra fizz".

He was influenced during the creative process by the work of Sora, Susumu Yokota, Brian Green, John Carroll Kirby and Ernest Hood besides some valuable input from Al Green of Groeni as a second set of ears.

Cycles shares traditions with 90s electronica and modernists Rival Consoles, Jon Hopkins and Floating Points. The result is an often kaleidoscopic realm of flickering light and wandering rhythms, an experience both slightly reflective and dreamingly sanguine.

The album also features two remixes, one from talented producer Modniy and the other by local electronica icon Jet Jaguar.
